Hand-painted majolica centerpiece with swallow in the center.
The decorative style is the Melograno (Pomegranate), a decoration created at the beginning of the twentieth century that owes its prestige also to the brushstrokes in pure gold, which finish the decorations in blue.
In this centerpiece an animal is represented, the swallow, which has always been a symbol of hope and, for Christians, of the resurrection of Jesus (for this reason Easter is celebrated in the period in which the swallows arrive in our skies).
Dimensions: 32 cm, height 6.5 cm.
(The white spots on the majolica are due to the reflection effect of the photograph)
