Indeed, Saint Anthony the Great is the patron saint of domestic animals and livestock. For this reason, its image is traditionally placed in stables and farmyards. The Saint is also the protector of fire: he is therefore the patron of bakers, firefighters, and many other categories related to the use of fire, among which the potters!
The feast of Saint Anthony is celebrated on January 17th. Traditionally the Church blesses the animals, the stalls and the ovens, placing them under its protection.
