Hand-painted artistic ceramic amphora with traditional Faenza Melograno decoration.
The amphora is an object that recalls antiquity, when it was used to transport liquid or semi-liquid foods such as wine, oil, fruit preserves, honey, etc. Over time, the amphorae have become furnishing accessories, decorated according to the styles of the time.
This amphora was hand-shaped on the lathe and features a blue decoration finished with gold in the third firing. The decorative elements are symbolic: the pomegranate is a symbol of abundance, wealth, fertility, prosperity; the swallow of rebirth and, for Christians, of resurrection.
Dimensions of the Melograno (pomegranate) decorated amphora vase: height 59.5 cm, maximum diameter 23 cm.
