In the Garofano (Carnation), a flowery garden with a blue lawn is represented with a carnation flower in the center reworked according to the ceramic tradition of Faenza.
The Garofano decoration is a “chinoiserie” of the Ferniani Factory of Faenza, which began producing decorated ceramics at Garofano in 1767. Today the Garofano is the most famous and widespread traditional Faenza decoration.
