The pharmaceutical art, with its need to preserve herbs, ointments, powders and liquids gave the opportunity to the potters in Faenza to create beautiful objects since the Renaissance. As well as having a practical function, they also had a decorative function.

Typical apothecary jars are vessels with paunchy cover, sprocket, pitchers, jugs, cups. The decoration is characterized by the cartouche with the name of the herb or medicine contained, such as Lemon balm, Chamomile, Lavender, Verbena, Cervia Salt, Valerian and Licorice.

Laura Silvagni – La Vecchia Faenza realizes its pharmacy jars in compliance with the Faenza tradition, still honoring the ancient ars pharmaceutica.
