Holy water stoup 24 cm Saint Anne and Mary

Faenza ceramic stoup depicting Saint Anne with the Virgin Mary child, her daughter. The ceramic has brightly colored Raphaelesque decorations on a blue background.

In Italy it was customary to hang a depiction of St. Anne with the Virgin Mary above the bed, to protect mothers and pregnant women.

It is a unique piece entirely hand painted.
