Italian artistic ceramic holy water stoup, hand-decorated “in the Raphaelesque style” with a relief olive wreath.

The font is based on an ancient model; the entire surface is adorned with Raphaelesque motifs and a painted blue background.

The olive branch is a symbol of peace and reconciliation (between God and Noah at the end of the Great Flood), brotherhood (it is featured in the emblem of the Italian Republic), but also of immortality (suggested by the longevity of the olive tree), prosperity, and abundance (in ancient times it was one of the fruits of the Promised Land and the symbol of the Olympic Games).
