Albarello vase with double beveled belly painted with the classic Faenza decoration called “Garofano” (carnation) and the word Timo (Thymus) in the scroll.
Thyme was highly valued in Greece, where thyme honey was considered a delicacy. At the time of Rome, sprinkled with water and thyme convinced that this plant instilled courage and vigor (the name thyme derives from the Greek and means “courage”). As a sign of good omen, the ladies in the Middle Ages embroidered it on the insignia of the knights.
Thyme is a useful plant against asthma, colds and headaches, also used as a natural remedy for tired skin and oily hair.
Dimensions of the pot for thyme: height 28.5 cm (at the tip of the lid), width 13.5 cm.
This vase is also available for Alloro (laurel – see photo below).
