Hand-decorated ceramic panel with a sheep shearing scene.

Inspired by the Agricultural Calendar of Pietro de’ Crescenzi, as depicted in a 15th-century illuminated manuscript of his famous Ruralium Commodorum libri XII (Treatise on Agriculture) of 1304, it represents the month of April, when sheep shearing took place in medieval times.

The scene is framed by leaves and flowers painted in bright colours on a blue background, so the decoration recalls the style of illuminated manuscripts.

The panel is framed in a wooden frame and ready to hang. Dimensions: 23 x 23 cm, thickness 1.2 cm.
