Hand-decorated majolica panel with a harvest scene.

Inspired by the Agricultural Calendar of Pietro de’ Crescenzi, as depicted in a 15th-century illuminated manuscript of his famous Ruralium Commodorum libri XII (Treatise on Agriculture) of 1304, it represents the month of July, when the wheat harvest took place.

The decoration recalls the style of medieval illuminated manuscripts, with a frame of leaves and flowers painted in bright colours on a blue background surrounding the scene.

The panel is framed in a wooden frame and ready to hang. Dimensions: 23 x 23 cm, thickness 1.2 cm.
