Plate ø30cm with scene

Ornamental hand-painted majolica plate in the Raphaelesque style.

The painting is done by brush, layer by layer, with particular attention to the chiaroscuro which brings out the figures and makes the final effect similar to oil painting.

The brim of this dish is composed of three medallions in which are painted Flemish-inspired floral arrangements. The three medallions are ideally supported by winged dragons, a typical element of the Raphaelesque decoration. The green, less classic pattern, makes this original dish unique. At the center is a bucolic scene depicting a woman who lovingly feeds two girls.

Unique piece, signed.
